Helping with Joy School
Cort had a day when she needed help teaching Joy School. It has to be named Joy School, because the kids do love it. I'd name it Chaos School - 7 of them, 3-4 years old, all with their own agenda, and each one with more energy in 5 minutes than I have all day. I have to say their little Christmas pagent was fun to practice - even the boys wanted to be Mary.

Catching Up
I finally figured out how to add pictures to my blog. So I'm catching up.
This was from General Conference on Oct. 4. The girls were playing Conference Bingo.
This was Friday, Oct. 24th, Cort's ward was having their Halloween Party. Riley is a Cat Witch, and Alexandra is Ariel. While the parents are decorating their cars for Trunk or Treat, the Y.M.Y.W. have activities in several rooms to keep the kids occupied. The girls both wanted black cat face paintings.
And we have a new addition to the family. Celeste had Callie Taryn Rose on Oct. 6th. We visited on Wed, the 8th. So Callie is brand new. The one on the left is the first picture of Callie with all her brothers and sisters. Celeste is holding Callie, Alyssa, Micah, Jerran, and Kendra. On the right, Riley is holding Callie, with Cortney watching. Riley wanted Callie to open her eyes. Even at the end of our visit, when Callie got hungry, she still wouldn't open her eyes for more than a peek.

Today's Laugh
My sister, Carrie, sent me this e-mail. And I laughed and laughed. It is sooo perfect.
Excerpts from a Dog's Diary:
8:00 am - Dog food! My favorite thing!
9:30 am - A car ride! My favorite thing!
9:40 am - A walk in the park! My favorite thing!
10:30 am - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite thing!
12:00 PM - Lunch! My favorite thing!
1:00 PM - Played in the yard! My favorite thing!
3:00 PM - Wagged my tail! My favorite thing!
5:00 PM - Milk bones! My favorite thing!
7:00 PM - Got to play ball! My favorite thing!
8:00 PM - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing!
11:00 PM - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing!
Excerpts from a Cat's Diary:
Day 983 of my captivity. My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Bastards.
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage..
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now.........

Latest Scam
Aunt Fern just got scammed for $5,000. Someone called, saying that he was one of her great grandsons, that he was in Canada and in trouble and needed money. She sent the money. The person then called back and said that he needed another $2,000. She told him that he would have to contact his grandfather (Fern's son) if he needed more. Fern then called her son, only to be told that no one in the family was even in Canada. So of course, Fern called the police and there is little hope that she will get the money back.
There are so many dishonest people out there - it is hard to stay ahead of all the ways that you can be tricked. But these low-lifes have really hit the bottom, when they call, pretending to be a loved one in trouble. So now before we can help out family, we have to check to see if they really are family!
